Unvanquished

Unvanquished is an MMO boss battle with a twist - you're the boss.  Reverse roles with an MMO world boss to experience a boss fight like you never have before--wielding fearsome (but telegraphed) abilities against players who react dynamically and call for reinforcements from other players in the zone.  How long can you survive?

Built in under 48 hours by Hank Portney and Sean Wong for GMTK Game Jam 2023 - "Roles Reversed".

Features:

• Three meaty ability attacks with cooldowns
• Intelligent players that try to dash-dodge telegraphed attacks
• Players break away from the pack to call for reinforcements - can you stop them before they bring in their high-level friends?
• Dynamic player levels that impact damage, health, reactivity, and armor styles
• Increase difficulty the longer you play - how long can you survive?

Assets used:

• All UI elements and character reaction sprites were hand-designed in Figma
• Environment, character sprites, and base character animations from CraftPix.net (https://craftpix.net/file-licenses/)
• Fonts (Krungthep, Markazi Text, Museo Sans) used under existing personal licenses from various font distributors
• Some sprite animations were hand-crafted from existing frames
